When Work Gets in the Way

Don't you know, the weather conditions I have been waiting on finally arrive, FOG!!!! and lots of it! Trouble is I have to work in the morning, hopefully I will get a similar day this coming weekend. There is so much fog creeping around it would make a Duck Hunter want to hunt ducks in a kilt and call ducks on a set of bag pipes. "They can take away our lands but they will never take our freedom!". "Huzzah!" I just don't think the movie Troy will be the same heart warming story of Braveheart but I did get my Cow Blind idea from the Trojan Horse. Hey wait a minute, didn't the Trojans when the NCAA football championship this season?

That seals it in my fate, I must construct the Trojan Cow 5000. I hear voices that say "If you build it they will come".

OU Takes a Heavy Loss

USC came to Florida with a message and they delivered it, routing the Sooners 55-19. What a devastating loss for OU and for the Big 12 as well. You would think that being a Longhorns fan that I would take great joy in OU's defeat but you couldn't be more wrong. When it comes to bowl games I always go for any team from the Big 12.

I watched the game over at my mother-n-laws and was just as disappointed as the OU fans that where there as well. I could see the defeat on the players faces and could feel sympathy for them. A defeat like this is hard to swallow but to all you OU fans out there feeling down on your team remember this; It takes a lot to go to the National Championship undefeated and give your team some credit for getting there. Sure OU didn't play like the team you have watched and cheered for all year but take pride in them for getting in the position to play in the big game.

On the way home from the game I was listening to the press conference with Coach Stoops and Jason White. The questions where the usual questions asked to the losing side but, the one that got me was the one that was asked to Jason White. "Jason can you summarize the feeling?" WHAT?!! What kind of crap question is that? "SUMMARIZE THE FEELING?" are you kidding me? This is what's wrong with the media, they ask stupid questions.

Hey, media people out there have you ever lost a story, a pay raise, a girlfriend or boyfriend, got a divorce, ran over your pet dog, taken a bite out of an apple and find half a worm, stepped in dog crap on your way to a job interview, lost your paycheck playing cards at a night out with the boys, missed out on a 1$ day sale at Macy's? If you have, can you PLEASE summarize the feeling?

First Day Back at Work

Man 12 hours is a long time! Ever notice how it always seems harder to get out of bed for work than it is to get up early on your day off to go hunting or what ever it is you need to get up early for?

I think I will relax and sit back and watch the Sugar Bowl and see if Virginia Tech and beat Auburn. So far Auburn have the upper hand leading 9-0.

A Texas Victory!

What a football game the Rose Bowl turned out to be.

Texas 38
Michigan 37

Dusty Mangum kicked the game winning field goal as the clock ran out!

afterwards I took my family out for some ice cream to celebrate.

just like the song says God bless Texas!

Happy New Year Everybody!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great year and even a better one this year. We spent New years over at some old friends of ours. We had a really great time. We played games and watched out kids play together. We used to get together and do that a lot but kind of slowed down and have not done it in awhile, I hope to do it more this up and coming year.

I actually made it and watched the New Year arrive. I don't know how I stayed awake. By midnight, I had been up for 21 hours. I am really tired now though, I think I better take a nap while Christi watches the Rose Parade cause she has a honey-do list about a mile long.

I need to get a lot of stuff done so I will be able to hunt Sunday afternoon, because come Monday morning at 5:00 am its back to the old Jay oh be!
